Volunteers play a vital role at Keyham Green Places, bringing energy, passion, and a personal touch to everything we do. Whether helping with events, maintaining our gardens, or supporting daily activities, our volunteers are the heart of our community centre. Their dedication allows us to offer a wide range of services and create a welcoming environment for all.

Volunteer Roles

    • Greet people and remind them to sign in.

    • Answer phones.

    • Take messages or pass the phone to relevant people.

    • Assist people in filling out basic forms.

    • Answer questions about activities happening at KGP.

    • Shredding unneeded documents decided by centre manager or a trustee.

    • Assist a staff member in clearing out storage areas

    • Taking recycling and shredding to the designated area.

    • Put items away.

    • Move items to designated areas.

    • Greet people and remind them to sign in.

    • Assist people in filling out basic foodbank parcel forms.

    • Pack food parcels and hand them to clients

    • Sort and put away food deliveries

    • Pack frozen food and fresh veg and fruit packs

    • Maintaining allotment areas

    • Weeding and pruning gardens

    • Planting seeds and plants

    • Working in polytunnels

    • Turn over compost

    • Laying woodchips and stones on paths

    • Caring for the wildflower meadow

    • General gardening duties
